nice ride Pappy , I still wish I had my XR , RD400e Daytona , Buell RS1200 or the ELR Z1R , wish I could find them , I know the RD was totalled about 2 days after I sold it to the guy , the XR who knows , some idiot probably turned it into a bobber thinking it was a sporty , the Buell went to Georgia , and the Z1r was local for a while ,my first wife basically put the kabosh on me riding , and I sold my toys , I should have known then she was Poison .. as for today 90% humidity again and 90* outside , and the neighbor wants me to half ass his brake job now , I am going to tell him , take it to a garage , I don't half ass safety function equipment on cars, and he is the sueing type .I got a price quote of $160 for 2 rotors , 2 drums , all the pads and shoes and hardware and 2 wheel cylinders (raybestoes)and was going to charge him $100 + shop supplies ( brake fluid and brake line ) to install it all so $300 for a new braking system . and I finally had something I have missed for a long time and been trying to get the taste down , I made Coney dogs at home , Detroit style ( flint style is blah, sorry Zapper ) I found if you take Aldi's beanless chili( Brookdale) and mix 7 slices of kraft American cheese in it ( melt it down ) on a Oscar Mayer hotdog ( can't afford Nathans or Packo's and don't have a outlet for Koegels ) and add some of Chicagos Plochman's salad mustard and diced Texas Vidalia sweet onion on it . almost like the ones from Plato's in Garden City Mi. ( burp )

Watched the rain fall all morning except for the half hour it stopped long enough for me to sort out the stuff in the truck's box. Took Marie out to the Old Triangle Pub for her birthday along with stepdaughter Nancy and Ross and Mora. Expensive but very tasty and yet another chance to watch the rain fall over the harbour. Filled the truck with hi-test, hooked onto the trailer(in the rain), packed some clothes for the weekend and now I'm going to burn some blues and southern rock CDs for the trip. We're leaving at 7:00AM and all I have left to pack is my toothbrush, band-aids, Tums, Ibuprofen and my phone charger. Haven't decided yet if I'll take a computer with me....

This morning I was in the shop working when I was accosted by two unsavory thugs with bananas. I'm pretty sure they were part of the "Ohio banana Bandits" Gang. Don't worry jean, I'm ok. I disarmed them and ate their weapons.

Be careful Pappy. I saw these guys heading your way. Perhaps Wheelz could save you.

Crazy weekend to say the least. We headed out for Prince Edward Island in the driving rain and high winds and let me tell you it was a white knuckle ride for sure. Then we got to the ferry - OMG I've been using those PEI ferries every year for 40+ years and yesterday's crossing was the worst I can ever remember. The kitchen got shut down because the deep fryers were sloshing around and all the cooler doors were swinging open and throwing bottles all over the cafeteria. After a hour and a half of this rocking and pounding across the Northumberland Strait we finally landed in the land of red mud and Anne of Green Gables. Another hour's drive to the track in a horrific headwind was another strange experience. Both me with my old tired truck and Spencer with his newer truck and enclosed trailer were actually dropping a gear at times to go downhill(seriously) We got to the track, unloaded, did a few hours of bench racing and headed to the cottages for supper and some TV before bed.
I woke up at 3:30AM with what I thought was a muscle spasm in my side but by 10:00 this morning with no urine production I knew exactly what it was. Two previous bouts with kidney stones told me I had better get home ASAP so I loaded up the race car and headed home at noon. The big guy in the sky must have been watching over me since I was the last vehicle to get on the ferry. I paid the girl in the booth and drove right on then soon as I shut the truck off the ferry left. What a difference 24 hours made there - today's crossing was smooth as silk and the water was flat calm and zero wind. Off the ferry traffic was light so I was speeding big time all the way home. 450+ kms and I never saw one cop the entire way even though I had rehearsed my story about the kidney stone in case I got stopped. I was going to tell the cop a trip to any local hospital and an X-ray would show him I was telling the truth LOL.
Anyhow I got home OK and I'm feeling a LOT better now because I'm pretty sure I left the stone at either Tim Hortons coffee shop in Port Hawkesbury or in the trees by the side of the road in Big Pond LOL after two urinations that would make a horse jealous LOL. Sucked to not be able to race but at least I'll get those 20 ADRA points just for being there since it's only my fourth event and since everyone else has five so I will actually gain on a few of them even though I went home.
Worst part of the weekend happened about ten minutes after I got home Spencer called me and told me that my good friend and fellow Sportsman class racer Rosa Neisten flipped her Mustang over the guardrail almost at the finish line. She was conscious and knew where she was and knew all the people around her and last I heard she was taken to the hospital and was shaken up pretty good. Rosa is not young either(70ish) and has had some problems with her legs for the last few years so I am quite concerned about how she is. Her whole family are drag racers - Rosa and her husband Henk(74) run Sportsman class, son Benny runs S/Pro with a 9.50s Nova, son Conrad runs Pro(11.00) and two granddaughters race(one in Pro, one in Sportsman) and one granddaughter's husband runs a 10 second bike.
Sorry about the rather lengthy post but it was a rather lengthy weekend(and it's only Saturday) Anyhow - I'm feeling OK now, I gained 20 points on everyone without making a single pass and the old truck and trailer did exactly what I expected of them. I guess LIFE IS GOOD even in the midst of a clusterf**k weekend.

after my bout with stones my doctor ( pee doctor ) told me to drink cranberry juice at least (1) 8 oz ( tall) glass a day to keep them from forming as the acid in it will help break the acid crystals up that cause the stones .
sorry you didn't get to play , and I hope ms.Neisten recovers .
as for length of entry, only Pappy is limited to 2 paragraphs ..

Hope Rosa is OK. Glad the stones are passed. I want chili cheese dogs for dinner now, thanks, Stimpy...
3 gigs this weekend, one to go. It's been wild. Lots of party animals, which actually makes it easier on us. Anything we do they flip out over it...Life is good.
