Sounds like you had one whale of a good weekend Don. A few days of racing is gooda. We returned from the trip to the Funny Car Nats. and the White Pearl single masted ship (Mercury) got 24.2 MPG overall for the trip. Solid Rock ran a 7.57 on the first run in the left lane but one of the other Funnies scattered an engine in the right lane and it was junk for the rest of the night. Just before the final race for the Funnies the timing lights went south and it took them almost 45 minutes to get them back up and running. By that time it was almost 11:00 and the track had dew on it and NOBODY was hooking. Rock put it in second gear at the line and about 1/3 throttle and it still blew the tires off. We didn't get back to the motel till about 1:00 in the morning and then up before 8:00 to make it to church in Columbus which is not a good combination for us old folkz. Zappy showed up and kept everybody in stitches for the night. Heidi brought cookies and guess what they were? Yep, Chips Ahoy for Cap'n Jack and the sailing crew. Aye it be a good time we had there matey.

nothign really going on here , Mary is looking for a new job as the one she is at is hiring more people and they do not have work to cover for the ones that are already there and is cutting her hours, she is seeing if she can get on at CTA , but I doubt it as the people she is dealing with are not to concerned about he having a job there otherwise she would have been hired a while back . her union she found out isn't worth anything , they only look out for the ones on the board and get jobs at other companies the unions represent. Hmm sounds like what happened when I worked at CF ..

Hi Mr. Jean, and Stimpy. Thanks for the welcome. I don't know what happened. I went to the old play ground and no one was there??? Not so much as a forwarding address - break a leg - or Bobs yer uncle.
Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid and my family moved, and left me at the old house..... (but that's a story for another time, and another therapist)
Lucky for me I saw the king of the jungle this weekend and after he accepted the customary offering I brought, he granted me directions here.

Boyd Great to hear from you. Glad the healing is going well. Just take it easy, no rush. But what ever you're doing must be right, so keep it up.
Looks like everyone made it here before me...good thing I saw Gorilli at the races last weekend, he got me on the right track.
I'm trying to decide whether or not to go to Indy. After missing the DLN 8 I feel I owe myself. Also, it's the one race that I get to see a lot of folks from around the country, I've met on the drag racing boards.
The bad part is, 1) there's a lot of walking, 2) if it's real hot, that kicks my bootay. Oh well, got a week to think about it & watch the weather forecast.

Went to replace a bad U-joint in the truck yesterday and found out there were two of them bad. Fortunately Spencer had a couple extras in his truck/parts bin. We also decided that the rearend wasn't bad enough to need any work done to it just yet. Now other than a re-pack of the front wheel bearings and a grease job we're ready for our annual trip to Prince Edward Island for Raceway Park's ADRA Labour Day race.
Worst part of the day was finding a leak in the radiator on Spencer's race car. It's an aftermarket aluminum race rad and it looked like a leak had developed on the bottom tube right near the center of the rad. We zipped off to the parts store for a bottle of stop leak for aluminum radiators, put it in and pressurized the rad with a tester pump. He was going to leave it sit for a while before he started it up and I haven't been talking to him today so I'm not sure how it worked out. We've only got a couple of days before we leave for PEI so I've got my fingers crossed it will stop the leak enough to be able to race.

Just a normal day here., except for the earthquake last night. We had a 4.2 shake about 10-12 miles from our house. Shook pretty good, but no damage found here so far. Hey Zappy, there was a thread, announcing the close and about Don's new one. It was up for about a week or so. Sorry you missed it, but glad you finally got here.

I'm sure if I would have seen a thread like "THIS SITE CLOSING SOON" it should have grabbed my attention. But somehow this old geezer missed it. But anyway I found you guys, so yer stuck with me now. LOL

Did a little more maintenance today on the old truck. Traced a low speed clicking in the front wheel on the truck to a damaged anti-rattle spring on the inside pad. Pads and rotors are like new so I'm just going to live with it. Two days to get ready for the annual Labour Day pilgrimage to Raceway Park PEI and for the first time since forever not a lot else to do. Truck is ready, car & trailer are here in the driveway and both the truck and the trailer's toolboxes are sorted and packed.

We spent all afternoon doing the end of month hunter/gatherer thing that's known in these parts as "cheque day". We also killed two birds with one stone since we took Nancy to get her groceries at the same time then we all had supper at Burger King. A can of STP in the truck for the trip to Prince Edward Island, more truck and trailer toolbox reorganization and a minor interior trim repair on the race car. Also after a month or more hunting for a new pair of clip-on sunglasses I finally found a pair that fit my glasses perfectly. Tassimo breakfast blend coffee in hand now and about to do some website updates.
