I just read an old Nova Scotian proverb and it says: May you never run out of coffee filters while snowed in. No, I just made that up but was thinking of you Don.

Coffee is important but here in the Maritimes we have a tradition of hitting the grocery stores the day before a storm to stock up on "storm chips". There is so much demand that there is actually a producer that mixed various flavors in one bag and called them storm chips and the bag is about twice the size of a "family size" bag of Lay's chips. They're tasty but I prefer their sea salt and cracked pepper version.

The consequences of your actions are the reward for the same.
I am not perfect, I will never be, but I must strive for perfection always.

Do you help before being asked to do so?
Compromise is always wrong when it means sacrificing principle.
May you have the hindsight to know where you've been; the foresight to know where you are going; and the insight to know when you have gone too far.

Have faith in the force of right and not in the right of force.
People don't lose intimacy when they stop talking, but when they stop listening.
You may be right but if it is with your wife you still may lose!! (Yes dear) is a good answer.

"Courage isn't the absence of fear — it's knowing that you are afraid and doing it anyway. Don't spend your days avoiding risk, being fearful. Act. Live your life on your own terms. Life is precious; spend it without regrets in your own precious voice."

Everybody has a photographic memory. It's just some people have no film/SD card.
A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he will give you his. How many people can you say that about?
Your life goes the way of your heart, be it hatred or love, you choose.

Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.
When sunset falls upon your day and fades from out the west, When business cares are put away and you lie down to rest, The measure of the day's success or failure may be told In terms of human happiness and not in terms of gold.

Intelligence is like a river: the deeper it flows, the less noise it makes.
It isn't the things that go in one ear and out the other that hurt as much as the things that go in one ear; get all mixed up then slip out of the mouth.
One measure of your leadership is the caliber of people who you choose to follow. Dennis A. Peer

If you want your dreams to come true, don't over sleep.
Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Confidence is the feeling you have just before you understand the situation.

Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do,
Do not wait to shed your light afar;
To the many duties ever near you now be true,
Brighten the corner where you are.
Just above are clouded skies that you may help to clear,
Let not narrow self your way debar;
Though into one heart alone may fall your song of cheer,
Brighten the corner where you are.
Here for all your talent you may surely find a need,
Here reflect the bright and Morning Star;
Even from your humble hand the Bread of Life may feed,
Brighten the corner where you are.
Brighten the corner where you are!
Brighten the corner where you are!
Someone far from harbor you may guide across the bar;
Brighten the corner where you are!
Ina D. Ogdon, pub.1913

The only time you look in your neighbor's bowl is to make sure that they have enough. You don't look in your neighbor's bowl to see if you have as much as them.
When you are talking you are repeating what you already know but when you are listening you are learning something new. Well, with some people but with others not so much.
